Our flatmate, Matt (better known as “Bong”) just started a new gig as a regular musician at a fresh new venue called the Lasalle Power Company which is a 3 level nightclub/sports bar/concert venue that seems to have all the elements of success. Beautiful interiors, prime location, incredible sound system, and supermodel cocktail waitresses in stilletto high heels and skin tight black outfits.
Petra and I went down with Matt for their Grand Opening to see an all girl cover band called Chelsea Girls. Coming from Los Angeles California, they are a seasoned group of musicians playing your favorite cover songs of the 70’s and 80’s…and playing them quite well, actually. The stage presence was really the most impressive.
Any show that starts off with an all girl rock band flashing the audience their hoo-has gets a check mark in my book for going to see them again. Petra seemed to really enjoy the show as well. “They’re incredible!”, she said…and indeed they were.
